WCS A&R Spotlight: North Long Beach artist Meezy Mays

The WCS A&R Spotlight is a presentation of new West Coast talent brought to you by our own Styles & Don Dubb. And we feel these artists are worthy of your attention.

Today we would like to introduce you to North Long Beach rapper/engineer Meezy Mays. When he’s not recording his own music, Meezy doubles as an engineer who lists Joe Moses and the returning Knoc-turn-Al as some of his clients. That engineering experience appears to serve as an advantage for Meezy as one can learn all of the helpful tips of the recording process from that position. I personally was impressed with the confidence of the artist in the recording booth as most come off as shaky and green as they gain experience. Meezy, however, sounds loose and flows like a vet. Take a listen to this recording provided to WCS entitled “I Got That”.

Tim “Styles” Sanchez is a seasoned veteran journalist, online promoter and content creator. His experience with finding and breaking new artists  goes back 20 years and includes artists such as Glasses Malone, Problem, Terrace Martin, Dae One, Bishop Lamont, Jay Rock, Kendrick Lamar, & more.’
