WCS Indie Spotlight; Trizz and Pomona Drey drop new single “Die Tonight” from upcoming collab project “Independent Behavior”

In my opinion, there is no smoother duo lyrically over a beat than Trizz and Pomona Drey. Each can stand-alone bar for bar with many different styles. But there is something magnetic that happens when these two connect. Like on the previously released track “Myself” this collab has proven to be desired by the fans. On this new single “Die Tonight” which was produced by @pomonadrey, the duo lyrically glide over the smooth but heavy baseline track. Trizz has been on a steady run promoting his latest drops “Basline Cavi” and “Trizzmas“, as well as shows and feature appearances. While Pomona Drey hasn’t been lacking either. Honing in on his production skills, the “Pomona vs. Everybody” MC seems to be more focused and driven with new energy. Check out the new single, the project “Independent Behavior” will be dope!

Mozzy drops new single “Every Night” feat. Baby Mozzy

Mozzy drops a new single while still serving his 1-year prison term. The new single “Every Night” features Baby Mozzy, and shows that Mozzy has plans to shake things up when he returns. Throughout his time away it seemed as if he was prepared and had enough visuals to keep his name alive while away. There have been pictures and reports of his well-being while serving his term. A term he turned himself in for so that he could return and get back to dropping music without any hindrance for travel and business. Check the new joint out!

RIP Uncle Chucc of 1500 or Nothin”

WCS has learned the sad news that West Coast singer and musician, Uncle Chucc, of the 1500 or Nothin’crew has passed away. No word on the cause but it’s heartbreaking regardless. Uncle Chucc collaborated with many West Coast artists and appeared on songs with Snoop Dogg, my favorite being “Neva Hafta 2 Wurry” off of the Ego Trippin’ album. Jason Martin, a writer on that very song tweeted the sad news Friday morning. If you are unfamiliar with Chucc’s catalog, you should look it up. Such a great talent.

Our heart goes out to Uncle Chucc’s family and friends and to the 1500 or Nothin’ collective.

WCS A&R Spotlight: Hemets’ Jay Luckk drops new project “Don’t Call It Luckk” and its a complete project

Jay Luckk and Wiggle Nation are looking to stamp their city. Hemet is a suburb 30 min south of Moreno Valley. As part of the Inland Empire, it is emerging as a place ripe with talent. Jay Luckk’s new project “Don’t Call It Luckk” is one of those tapes that play straight through, with no skips, a rare find in the time of streaming where EPs and singles are dominant. Jay Luckk’s “Don’t Call It Luckk” is packed with a hot 17 songs. Stand-out tracks are “I’m From Hemet” feat. frequent collaborator Spank Nitty James, who also is from Hemet. “Respectfully” feat. Youn Note, “Closer To My Dreams“, “Wake Yo Game Up” feat. Mitchy Slick, and “F**k It Look Like” feat. LaDuce. The project was produced by Jay Luiz @prodjayluiz which provided a soundscape of open space and hard-hitting drums for the flows and cadences that poke out through the speakers.  The rap game will have to dial into what is happening out in the Inland Empire and its emerging cities this project proves that.
