Tha Chill Drops Coolio-Featured “Moparcin'” Music Video Off Upcoming ‘Ultimate Gangsta Shit’ Album

Coolio fans have a brand-new single from the late rapper to listen to as Tha Chill, of Compton’s Most Wanted, pays respect and pure homage to his long-time homie as he drops the second single to his upcoming Ultimate Gangsta Shit. The new song, “Moparcin,” arrived on Monday (October 31) via Boomdocz Productions.

Directed by Westlyfe, the song interpolates Midnight Star’s “No Parking On The Dance Floor”, as Tha Chill says of his latest production, “I flipped the no parking bassline and word up drum energy, there are no samples, and I got my boy MOFAK on the talk box.”

On working with the legendary Coolio, Tha Chill exclusively told Chad Kiser of West Coast Styles“Coolio always has that G vibe to me and when I got the chance to produce and rock with my big bro of 30 years I had to keep that same energy. I’m all about keeping us OGs legacy alive because it’s people that still want it and miss it. So, we did the joint and called my boy Big Ray [Westlyfe] in and a bunch of lowriders and homies like Wino, Kurupt, Taz from Tha Liks , BG Knocc Out, and more and did the video. Me, personally, I had a blast doing this jam and the video. Shot out to the culture, that’s what it’s for. MOPARCIN!”

According to Coolio’s longtime manager Jarez, the “Fantastic Voyage” rapper was found dead by a friend on September 28, after he excused himself to the bathroom and never returned. Paramedics arrived minutes later and pronounced him dead at the scene.

Coolio rose to fame with 1995’s monumental “Gangsta’s Paradise” featuring L.V., which became the top-selling single of that year 1995, as well as one of the top-selling singles of all time with 6 million copies worldwide. The lead single for the movie Dangerous Minds, starring Michelle Pfeiffer was nominated for Record of the Year at the Grammy Awards and won the Grammy for Best Rap Solo Performance.

Earlier this month, Tha Chill dropped “Bankroll”, featuring the bay area ambassador and Mount Westmore group member E-40Le$Laflame & Dovble R.

The upcoming album Ultimate Gangsta Shit features E-40, Glasses Malone, Squeak Ru, J-Dee of Da Lench Mob, and others, with additional production from D Ace and Rob Tee.

Stockton’s MBNel Connects With Haben For New Mike Wild$-Directed “Toxic” Music Video

MBNel lays it all out on his new video single “Toxic featuring Haben” out now via The Muddy Boyz/Empire. Flexing his pipes and his pen, “Toxic” appears to be a summer-tinged track laced with a familiar-sounding west coast bounce. However, underneath all that sunshine reveals an underlying darker theme. Equally adept at serving snapping rhymes as heartfelt melodies, NorCal native MBNel is a man of many talents.  Swapping between first-person and third-person narration, Nel reflects on the demise of a relationship and ultimately concludes that he was in the wrong the whole time, admitting he’s running from his past and has emotional baggage. The visual directed by Mike Wild$, paints a vivid portrait of the relationship described in the song–Nel acts as the omniscient narrator as a troubled couple work through their union’s dissolution. Floating in on a sea breeze, Haben sings from the woman’s perspective as she attempts to escape.

“I’m not afraid to delve deeper than what’s on the surface,” explains MBNel. “I make music like a journal.”

“Toxic” is on track to appear on Started In The South, the Stockton, CA native’s next EP. Arriving during a period of sustained growth from Nel, the new EP finds him reflecting on his success and paying homage to the streets that raised him. Spanning 4 songs and featuring an appearance from Bleu, Started In The South is coming soon.

ProHoeZak Previews New Song Off Upcoming Rated X Album “Crunch Time”

Earlier this week ProHoeZak — producer for Snoop DoggToo ShortMount WestmoreKuruptSuga FreeE-40, and others — announced he was prepping the release of a new Rated X album entitled Crunch Time album. With this new release, the East Palo Alto pioneer is taking it all the way back to his roots and performing under his original hip-hop moniker, Cap’n Crunch. The new 10-track album is slated to come out for Halloween.

ProHoeZak recently took to social media to drop a sneak peek of one of the songs slated to appear on Crunch Time. Although the song title isn’t revealed, the artist/producer starts the track off with a “history lesson” on his name changes throughout his career. The Blap God started out as Cap’N Crunch before changing his name to C-Funk and later morphing into his current moniker, ProHoeZak.

Check out the song preview from Cap’n Crunch/ProHoeZak below:

In 1989, at the age of 18, multi-faceted artist/producer ProHoeZak secured his first record deal with the late great Cameron Paul and Tandem Records, when his group Rated X was signed to the label. Paul famously remixed the song “Push It” by the legendary multi-platinum duo Salt-N-Pepa. Upon signing with Tandem Records ProHoeZak, along with the other Rated X group members, began opening shows for Public EnemyN.W.AToo Short, and Digital Underground, while also getting radio play and getting spins in hip-hop clubs across the US. The group’s first album released on Tandem was their 1990 debut …And Then Came Rated X, which became a bay area hip-hop classic.

For the new Rated X Crunch Time album, ProHoeZak is taking it all the way back to his roots and performing under his original hip-hop moniker, Cap’n Crunch. The new 10-track album is slated to come out for Halloween.

When talking about the upcoming album, East Palo Alto legend exclusively told Chad Kiser“This new album that I recorded I just did it out of nowhere. I started last Monday and finished it Friday. The whole album was produced on an Akai Pro Mpc 61Keys and an Akai Pro MPCX with multiple expansion pack loops.  There are no features on this album, just the intro conversation with my cousin Flavor Flav to let him know that I was coming out with a new album. It’s been 32 years since I dropped my first album and now it’s time to bring the Bay Area back with true hip-hop.”

ProHoeZak produced and featured on the Mount Westmore NFT album Bad MF’s with the song “Mt. Westmore, Pt.1” and is also behind recent hits from Too Short (“Ain’t Gone Do It”, “Big Sexy Thang”), and Snoop Dogg (“Roaches In My Ashtray”, “Say It Witcha Booty”).

Recently, the “Blap God” ran down a long list of artists he’s been producing new music more including the late, great legend Coolio, Long Beach icon Snoop Dogg, the Oakland godfather Too Short, bay area ambassador E-40, legendary duo The Dogg Pound, the west coast kingpin Kurupt, the soon-to-be-retired Suga Free, and the most featured collaborative recording artist in the world Kokane.

ProHoeZak has also dropped a few singles over the last several months including “Don’t Say Nothin”, “Get It Get It”, and the remix to “19 Dollar Lap Dance” which features Kaine of the Ying Yang Twins.
