E-40 Explains Mount Westmore Releasing “Bad MF’s” Album AS NFT Release

E-40, who threw out the ceremonial first pitch and read the Giants’ starting lineup over the public address system at yesterday’s MLB game between the San Francisco Giants and Cincinnati Reds, answered a few questions as part of the E-40 VIP Experience at Oracle Park.

One of the questions that was asked pertained to the NFT release of the Mount Westmore album Bad MFs. The Bay Area icon and Mount Westmore member E-40 explained the reasoning behind the west coast supergroup releasing the album as an NFT and said that it will be getting a release on other platforms, plus more.

E-40 explained, “First of all, I want to say this. I know there’s a lot of upset, die-hard fans of Mount Westmore…We released an album, NFT, you know, for the NFT space. But trust me, all platforms will get the album, plus more. Songs you’ve never heard, the whole woop-wap, so stay tuned we’re working on it right now. We just wanted to try the NFT space out. It wasn’t for no money, we all got money. It wasn’t about that. It’s a new world, you gotta turn with the times before the times turn on you.”

Earlier this month, Snoop Dogg, Ice Cube, E-40 & Too Short released their highly-anticipated Mount Westmore album via Death Row Records and exclusively through Gala Music.

John Singleton did. Suge was like, ‘we about to drop Doggystyle, he can’t be on it. But we got the Dogg Pound.’ Me and Daz just made a group after The Chronic. We got together, we were together all the time. We said we just might as well make a group. He’s Snoop, we the Dogg Pound, and we’re going to represent all the homies. Suge loved it, Dr. Dre loved it, Dogg loved it.” In an earlier episode, Kurupt discussed the making of “Stranded On Death Row”, a song he featured on with Snoop Dogg, The Lady of Rage, and RBX from the 1992 Dr. Dre debut solo album The Chronic on Death Row Records. “All I could think of was stranded on death row. From there, it set the whole tone of the record. We had no subject matter, Dr. Dre said ‘just bust’. So I set it off like that. I said, inmate cell block one. From there, Dr. Dre said, ‘everybody, y’all inmates! mention you’re cell block’.” Kurupt goes on to reflect on how amazing it was for him at the time to have helped create the title of the song and set the pace of the record for everyone to follow. Check out Kurupt talking about rapping on “Doggy Dogg World” & “Ain’t No Fun” on the debut album Doggystyle from Snoop Dogg below:

Eminem Announces “Curtain Call 2” Compilation

As Eminem and Snoop Dogg released their long-awaited collaboration “From The D 2 The LBC” during Ape Fest, Slim Shady seemed to also be announcing he’s prepping a Curtain Call 2 compilation.

While the Eminem-produced “From The D 2 The LBC” was originally intended to be included on the Mount Westmore album Bad MFs, the new single may in fact be from Em’s new compilation album Curtain Call: The Hits 2.

Marshall shared the new single via social media with the #curtaincall2 hashtag on it: “Took too long to reconnect with Snoop Dogg. You know we had to make a movie! #FromTheD2TheLBC #CurtainCall2”

Released in 2005, Curtain Call: The Hits featured Eminem’s most popular singles, including four new songs like “Stan” the live version with Elton John as performed during the 43rd Grammy Awards, “Fack”, “When I’m Gone” and “Shake That” featuring the late, great Nate Dogg.
